Hydro Clean (Caretaker)

The Hydro Clean was an excellent system installed by California Pools throughout the 1980's and 1990's. This system was manufactured by Caretaker and uses a 5 port water valve sometimes referred to as an actuator. There are two general styles of cleaning heads used with this system. One type, used in the early 80's, has threads that screw the head into place. The newer version used in the late 80's and 90's features tabs that lock into place, called a "bayonet" feature. There is a rebuild kit (part # 5-9-2001) for the internal parts, and a rebuild kit for the o-rings (part # 5-13-1) used in this water valve. However, most customers find that replacing the entire top portion of the valve (part # 4-9-2000) is the best solution and can be easily installed by anybody.
